What is the Plastic Packaging Tax and how can recycled plastic bottles help?

Are you liable to pay?

The Plastic Packaging Tax applies to packaging manufactured in, or imported into, the UK where the plastic used in its manufacture is less than 30% recycled. The entity liable to pay the tax to HMRC is the company manufacturing the packaging or importing it.

Avoid extra costs

Packaging purchasers opting for recycled plastic bottles can avoid the extra costs being passed down the supply chain when using standard virgin polymer. The rate of the tax is £210.82 per metric tonne of plastic packaging.
