Reduce your Plastic
Packaging Tax to
Plastic Packaging Tax is currently set at a rate of £233.69 per metric tonne. This tax applied to plastic packaging manufactured in, or imported to the UK where the plastic used in its manufacture is less than 30% recycled.

We take our name from our Welsh homeland, with our family-run premises based in the rolling green hills of Powys in Newtown, Mid-Wales. 1993 - BUSINESS ESTABLISHED IN NEWTOWN, POWYS
Founded by Martin Simpson and his son Mike. In the early days we stocked and distributed bottles and jars to the hair and beauty industry.

1999 - MOVE TO UNIT 32
With our rapidly developing reputation for best in class products, came ever growing demand which resulted in our move to our current HQ Unit 32 on the Mochdre Industrial Estate

1999 - UK DISTRIBUTORSHIP OF CANYON AND GUALA TRIGGERS
We secured the UK distributorship for trigger sprayer manufacturers Canyon Europe and Guala Dispensing, which we still uphold today 30+ years on.

2000 - A BOLD START TO THE NEW MILLENNIUM
To mark the millennium we invested in our
first tooling for a HDPE bottle. Since then we
have invested in numerous tooling for other bottles that are staples in our range.

2002-2007 PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
With over 10 years in business, our range and services expanded to various industries, resulting in the introduction of numerous best-selling products such as our angle neck bottle, spray bottles and jerry cans.

2007 - SECOND WAREHOUSE SET UP
More products resulted in the need for more space! So we purchased a second warehouse to help us deal with our vast product range and keep up with demand.

2009 - 'ELAN' RANGE IS BORN
Our most popular trigger spray bottle range Elan was born! We established tooling for the 500ml and 750ml variants, and the Elan’s still remain one of our most popular products

2014 - 'BRECON' IS LAUNCHED
Continuing our Welsh roots, we introduced our Snowdon waisted bottle as well as our rectangular Brecon range. Both are still in high demand today.

2014 - WELCOMING THE 3RD GENERATION
Adair joined the sales team, the third generation of the Simpson family to contribute to Cambrian’s success.

2016 - NEW YEAR, NEW NAME
Re-brand to Cambrian Packaging, previously known as ‘Cambrian Containers’, we felt the new name reflected our evolving focus and better encapsulated our product offering.

2017 - ECYCLE RANGE
We introduced our E-Cycle range in response to growing international concerns surrounding packaging and sustainability. All products within the range are made up of 100% recycled material that can be recycled again after use, reducing plastic pollution.

2021 - ZERO RANGE
To further our commitment to helping businesses reach their sustainability goals, we introduced our Zero range. All products include a minimum of 30% PCR making them exempt from PPT (introduced in 2022) charges whilst remaining recyclable.

May 2022 - PPT GOES LIVE
Plastic Packaging Tax is introduced and being applied to products. We continue to support our customers through these charges as well as through our Zero and E-Cycle products to mitigate them completely.

June 2023 IML PAILS
We launched our IML Pails range, whereby labels are applied during the manufacturing process. This creates a scratch-proof, durable label, whilst saving time and money on additional labelling requirements.

2023 - 3PL EXPANSION
Due to our expansion we made the move to a 3PL warehouse set up. Our main dispatches and logistics now take place in Braford, allowing us to cope with demand and further improve on our delivery services.

2024 - INTRODUCTION OF MONOLITE
The introduction of our innovative Monolite lotion pumps. All components are manufactured from PP making them fully recyclable.

2025 EPR CHANGES
EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) becomes mandatory. We will continue to support our customers through the requirements needed based on their usage.

FEB 2025 - CLARITY IS LIVE!
In early 2025 we introduced our Clarity Glass range of products. Specifically suited to the personal care industry, our product roster includes dropper bottles, sirop bottles and jars.
