Cambrian Packaging has taken a proactive approach to tackling single use plastics with our range of Post-Consumer Recycled plastic (PCR) bottles in100% rHDPE.
The plastics problem continues to dominate the news and a new report has just revealed that tackling single use plastics is seen by consumers as the number one environmental policy for the UK Government.
Cambrian Packaging believes the best approach to recycling plastic packaging is to take conventional petro-chemical-based plastics and recycle them for further use – a process known as Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic (PCR). This avoids packaging being disposed of by incineration, being sent to landfill or polluting watercourses. We support this view by stocking bottles manufactured in Ecycle™, which is recycled standard HDPE used at 100% (rHDPE).
Why use Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic (PCR)?
Using Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic (PCR) in this way makes a lot of business sense. It eliminates the use of virgin plastic altogether, regardless of whether it is manufactured from plants or petroleum, and we can eliminate the need for new plastic.
PCR is an environmentally-friendly packing option which many manufactures are choosing in order to support national recycling programmes. PCR is made from recycled plastic packaging which is commonly disposed of via household waste streams, making it a cost-effective option and also an environmentally-friendly packing solution.
Our customers are certainly pleased with our efforts so far. Techtron Ltd, a BRC accredited contract formulator, manufacturer and packer of chemical liquids, said: “Our supplier, Cambrian Packaging, is setting a fantastic example by significantly reducing their impact on landfills through opting for recycled packaging.”

Where to buy Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic (PCR) packaging solutions
Cambrian Packaging is a UK stockist of rHDPE plastic bottles. Ecycle™ is our packaging option designed to help meet the demand for 100% recycled plastic bottles - it is 100% rHDPE (recycled high density polyethylene). The feedstock for Ecycle™ is plastic packaging waste collected from numerous sources including watercourses and coastlines. This approach helps address the growing problem of plastic packaging polluting our seas and oceans and avoids incineration of waste by using it again.
