Our most popular bottle sprayers for winter car care products
Chemical-friendly bottle sprayers
PET plastic is inherently resistant to many of the solvents typically included in car care products such as de-icer, waxes and polishes. HDPE is also acceptable for winter car care like de-icer, but products such as this tend to benefit more from a clear spray bottle, as you will see below. View more guidance on materials here in our knowledge section.
Bottle sprayers with a clear finish
PET (polythene terephthalate) plastic spray bottles remain the most popular choice in the autocare sector. This is because the PET material gives a sophisticated, luxury gloss finish. By selecting clear bottle sprayers, customers can also more easily identify products such as de-icer, because they can see the coloured liquid through the packaging, enhancing the look of the products on the shelves and making them easier to find.

Sustainable 30% PCR plastic bottles
We have recently expanded our range of 30% Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic bottles. When considering bottle sprayers and other packaging for the retail market, it is worth considering consumers’ awareness of plastic pollution and recyclability of packaging. Our ZER0 range features 30% PCR, is fully recyclable and is exempt from the pending Plastic Packaging Tax.
When you look at car care spray bottles on the market, you will see that most PET bottle sprayers tend to have a 28/410 neck, which suits a range of the most common trigger spray heads, making it easier to get a complete packaging solution sorted.
For use with trigger heads, the key 30% PCR bottles in our ZER0 range are BG500C-28-30, PC500C-30 and ESB500BC-30. These are all fitted with a 28/410 screw neck which allows them to be used as spray bottles.
Latest research from Recycle Now has revealed almost 9 out of 10 people now recycle. However, 55% of households put items in the general rubbish bin that can be recycled; including foil, aerosols, and plastic toiletry (shampoo and conditioner bottles), plastic trays and cleaning and bleach bottles. Recycling currently saves 18 million tonnes of CO2 every year, which is the same as taking 12 million cars off the road.
The Plastic Packaging Tax is hoped to encourage more brands to use recycled content and will apply to packaging manufactured in, or imported into, the UK where the plastic used in its manufacture is less than 30% recycled. The rate of the tax will be £200 per metric tonne of plastic packaging. Find out more here and read our free whitepaper on the subject.
